War - Iraq

You know, every morning for the last six years, I've been waking up with a grim sense of foreboding, as in, what will Chimpy McTardLiar and his cohorts fuck up today? And, sad to say, each day that gang of incompetent ninnyhammers exceeds my lowest expectations.

Is there anything these morons have touched that hasn't turned to a stinking, maggotty pile of shit? Anything? Name one thing these fucktards have done that has been good, positive, even passable. Just one.

Today's tidings of joy: Approximately 190,000 guns intended for Iraqi "security forces" are unaccounted for, according to the GAO. Raw Story carries the reportage from AFP.

Highlights of the report:
According to the July 31 report, the military "cannot fully account for about 110,000 AK-47 assault rifles, 80,000 pistols, 135,000 items of body armour and 115,000 helmets reported as issued to Iraqi forces."

The weapons disappeared from records between June 2004 and September 2005, as the military struggled to rebuild the disbanded Iraqi forces from scratch amid increasing attacks from Sunni insurgents and Shiite militias.

[...]

US commanders often accuse foreign powers such as Iran of supplying arms to illegal militias fighting in Iraq, but the report shows they cannot fully account for the hundreds thousands of weapons they brought in themselves.

Last month, Turkey raised concerns over reports that separatist Kurdish guerrillas launching cross-border raids from northern Iraq had received US-supplied guns supposedly destined for Iraqi security forces.

[...]

The United States has spent 19.2 billion dollars (14 billion euros) on Iraq's security forces since the 2003 invasion to oust Saddam Hussein, with 2.8 billion dollars (2 billion euros) devoted to equipping them.

First off, I'd like to know who these Iraqi "security forces" are. Is the report talking about Iraqi police? The army? All armed forces? Private security contractors?

Secondly, I'd really like to see those elements of the mass media who are already beating the drums of war against Iran publish this information and frontpage it and do a little analysis on why it is that Stupie McPoopyhead's cronies are blathering endlessly about Iranian-supplied armaments being used to kill our soldiers when it should be fairly clear from this report that OUR OWN FUCKING ARMS are being used against us.

Finally, I'd really really really like to see some heads roll for this. Really. Ideally it would be Commander Codpiece's head, but that's hardly likely. But someone has to take the fall, goddammit.
