Politics - Celebrate! Celebrate!

I checked the calendar twice to be sure it wasn't April 1st. If this story isn't true, I will pop a blood vessel. On the other hand, if it is true, there will be lots and lots of people running around the streets tonight with their underwear on their heads, screaming "Happy, happy! Joy, joy!" and other such babble.

The gist of the story:
Karl Rove will resign from his position in the Bush Administration and return to Texas Aug. 31, according to an interview published Monday with Paul Gigot, editorial page editor for The Wall Street Journal.

When asked by Gigot whether he's leaving "to avoid Congressional scrutiny," he said, "I know they'll say that. But I'm not going to stay or leave based on whether it pleases the mob."
Of course, this flippant statement is somewhat undercut by this statement:
... Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), was expected to release a statement on Rove's resigation later Monday.

I'll bet it thoroughly displeases Bill O'Lielly. What an arrogant bastard Rove is. He thinks of his fellow citizens as a "mob" - and of himself as an aristo, no doubt. Perhaps he'll remember the cries of the mob on Bastille Day - "A la lanterne!" Hear and tremble, you fat, pasty maggot.
