2008 Elections: These People Look Like

the America that we see everyday. Don't know about you, but pictures from the Republican convention seemed like a visit to the local country club. Rich, old, mostly white people with atrocious taste in clothing gettin' down without no rhythm. Pink boas? Pink wigs? What's THAT about?

And then there's this. This looks like the America down the road, the America of the office, the grocery store, the supermarket, the movie theater. Old people, young people, men, women, white, black, brown, Asian faces, AA faces, freckled faces (Scots? Irish? Somewhere back in the ancestry surely), fat people, skinny people, people in wheelchairs, babies, toddlers, infants, poor people, students, community organisers (you know, those people the Republicans love to hate on). That's the America we live in. Don't know about you, but our America is not a bunch of anorexic blondes with botoxed lifted faces and $200,000 diamond earrings and old men wearing watches that cost more than the average family paid for their car.

Click the link. Take a look at the people you see everyday. Compare them to the people who showed up at the Republican convention and tell us what you think.

when they panned the audience you were hard pressed to find anything other than a poorly dressed country club socialite from Greenwich

Yes, and Cindy McCain, in her $300,000.00 dollar outfit is just like the rest of us. Hell. After 30 years of working and diligent saving I barely have that in my 401k retirement accounts. She can blow that on a dress without even a second thought. Now who are the elitists again?
