Politics: Steve Beshear Is Kentucky's New Governor

Democrat Steve Beshear handily beat scandal-plagued incumbent Ernie Fletcher (R-ogue) to become the new governor of Kentucky, AP reports. Congratulations, Governor Beshear!

Fletcher won the governorship on a promise to clean up corruption, but promptly broke his promise and proceeded to indulge in partisan politics and cronyism, leaving Kentucky in worse shape than it was when he won the governorship. Fletcher is an ordained Baptist minister, a fact that did not seem to impact his penchant for corruption and sleaze.
