Naomi Klein Speaks

PolCat, PolCat's beloved, and I went to see Naomi Klein on Friday night. Naomi did a wonderful thing: She reminded us that there are reasons that things haven't moved forward in a progressive manner as much as we'd like. It is NOT a failure of our ideas. Here's what she said:

We did not lose the battles of ideas. We were not outsmarted and we were not outargued. We lost because we were crushed. Sometimes we were crushed by army tanks, and sometimes we were crushed by think tanks. And by think tanks I mean the people who are paid to think by the makers of tanks.
