What Does It Take To Get Out Of Iraq?
Photo from The Guardian
According to Raw Story, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis marched this weekend calling for an end to the American occupation. They want us out now. They want us out, we want us out, what the hell does it take to get the Idiot In Charge to get the message? The last time Muqtada al-Sadr called for Iraqis to target American forces, some of the highest death tolls of U.S. troops were recorded. Already approximately 40 coalition soldiers have died in the first 9 days of this month. I dread the coming weeks. How many mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, wives, husbands, lovers, and friends are going to be attending a loved one's funeral? How many have been wounded, maimed, mutilated in some way? What is the cost, over the coming years, of caring for those who have been damaged by this war? The marriages that have ended in divorce, the bitter wives and husbands, the grieving parents, orphaned children, mentally and emotionally traumatized veterans?
