World: Quake Hits Turki
An earthquake measuring 5.7 rocked Turki's capital city, Ankara, on the first day of the Eid festival. CNN has the details.
Unsurprisingly, the USGS rates it at 5.3. I sense a trend here (see previous post on New Zealand's earthquake).
The quake was the third of the day, the other two measuring 3.9 and 4.0 respectively, and was centered in the town of Bala, approximately 50 miles south of Ankara. No deaths or serious injuries have been reported.
