Iraq - Criminal Charges For Blackwater?
In further Iraq news, Shirwan al-Waili, Minister for national security affairs in Iraq, has announced that the Iraqi government expects to refer criminal charges to the Iraqi courts within days in the killing of at least eight Iraqis in a recent incident. The killers are Blackwater employees who claim that they were responding to insurgent fire. However, multiple eyewitness accounts of the incident refute any likelihood of Blackwater's story containing a grain of truth.
Given Blackwater's reputation for unnecessary and unprovoked violence towards Iraqi civilians, it is highly likely that the Blackwater employees are lying to reduce their culpability in this incident.
"The shots fired on the Iraqis were unjustifiable," he said. "It was harsh and horrible."Throw these lying scum out of the country, but not until they've served a decade or two in Iraqi jails, in "stress positions," with a little waterboarding thrown in for good measure. Holy Mother of God, these people make me so sick. We created them. These are ex-army, ex-CIA, ex-US and British military personnel, who are killing other people for fun. How will they ever come home to their own country and their own people and live a normal life? I fully expect that each and every one of these psychopathic motherfuckers will earn a paragraph or ten in their local fishwrap for opening fire on innocent civilian bystanders at some McDonald's hamburger joint or something, ten years down the line.
Although Waili did not spell out exactly what the investigative committee would recommend to the Iraqi criminal court, a preliminary report of findings by the Interior Ministry, National Security Ministry and Defense Ministry stated that "the murder of citizens in cold blood in the Nisour area by Blackwater is considered a terrorist action against civilians just like any other terrorist operations."
"The criminals will be referred to the Iraqi court system," it stated.
