Offshore drilling is incredibly reckless and irresponsible. We should phase it out and build more public transportation infrustructure instead.
Ms. M, that is SO beautiful ... er, OK, maybe not, but you know what I mean. Now if only we could line up all the fucking BP execs and mush their faces into it - or, better yet, into the oil spill itself.
My thoughts are with the poor people of NOLA, and of LA and FL and all the other affected states. People reporting illness from the fumes, not being provided with appropriate safety gear (shades of 9/11 responders!), and BP's increasingly weaselly press releases and comments. I believe the latest stats said ten times as much methane was being released as oil. Methane depletes oxygen in the immediate surrounding area. I.e., the gulf is turning into an anoxic, or dead, zone. LA's $2BIL/pa fishing industry is gone, probably for good.
