Yep. Read it. Not surprised. My property manager back in Louisiana once called me in a panic because an inter-racial couple wanted to rent one of my properties. I asked him, "are they drug users?" "Uhm, no." "Do they have criminal records?" "Uhm, no." "Do they have the money to pay the rent?" "Uhm, yeah." "Rent it to them." "But it ain't right, a black man and a white woman together like that!" "Rent it to them!"
That was 2006. *NOT* 1956. 2006.
Now you know why I no longer live in the South. I just can't put up with that kind of small-minded hatefulness anymore.

That's too bad that you don't feel comfortable in your own homeland.
There was a lot of small mindedness in Connecticut where I lived for many years ... that's why I wanted to leave and did leave. Off to Boston! Then I discovered the small mindedness there!
