Social Justice: Kampuchean PM Disowns Daughter
The Prime Minister of Kampuchea, Hun Sen, has disowned his adoptive daughter for being a lesbian, according to reports in PinkNews and PageOneQ. (The PageOneQ link is not working for me, so I'm not including it.)
Hun Sen, a former Khmer Rouge, came to power when Vietnam overthrew Pol Pot's regime and installed a friendly People's Republic in Kampuchea. Homosexuality is legal in Kampuchea, and former leader King Sihanouk has always been very positive about GLBTQ issues, writing that he believes:
"homosexuals, as well as transvestites, [are] equal because [God loves] a wide range of tastes."An enlightened monarch indeed. Unfortunately, King Sihanouk holds no political office.
What a small-minded person Hun Sen is.
