Environment - Huge Earthquake Hits Peru
An earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale rocked Peru today, damaging buildings in the capital city, Lima, and uprooting trees. The quake was centered approximately 90 miles south of Lima. Government bodies are working to restore water, power, and communications.
Yet another reminder, if one be needed, of how fragile our civilization, our cities, and our lives really are.
