What YOU Can Do To Make The Elections Better

In case you didn't already know it, ABC has invited Andrew NotSoBrightBart to give a live election analysis on Tuesday.

Yes, that Andrew NotSoBrightBart. The one who characterizes himself as "Matt Drudge's bitch."

The one who peddled an edited video of Shirley Sherrod that resulted in a wave of wingnut hysteria, with addled teabaggers calling their radio and TV stations to express their horror and outrage that a black woman whose father and uncle had been murdered by white men, once experienced a certain prejudice towards white people. (Of course, they edited out the evidence that she had overcome that prejudice and remains a lifelong friend of the white people in question, who are still very grateful to her for her efforts on their behalf.)

So, if all those incidents in NotSoBrightBart's past bother you — you know, like James O'Keefe pretending he dressed up as a pimp taking Hannah Giles dressed as his ho' to destroy ACORN, an organization that represented poor people and helped them resolve housing disputes and exercise their voting rights — or whipping up race hatred against Shirley Sherrod; or trying to illegally tap the phone of a sitting US Senator; or attempting to set a reporter up for something closer to rape than seduction; you might, you know, want to let ABC know that rewarding a known serial prevaricator and provocateur, and fanning the flames of sectionalism and antipathy right around the elections is, like, not nice at all. And you will kick their fucking asses to the curb. Politely, of course.

Cat-ur-zzzzzzzzz

Or for the other inhabitants of La Casa de Los Gatos. Strenuous snoozing (if there is such a thing) by All And Sundry. Feet poking into noses, nipping of tails, pinning down of hoominz who might want a little less bed-crowdment. Also, paws in the face and eyes.

Hope y'all had a great time at the Rally for Sanity And/Or Fear today, those of you who went. Best estimates are that the crowd was over 250,000. Yay from all of us who couldn't (snivel) go. Looks like a Good Time was had by all.

Rainy weather here, now, at last. Maybe the ground will be soft and moist enough to be worked by Tuesday. If all goes well, the resident gimps are hiking tomorrow, hopefully in some wonderfully piny park.

Where were the Tea Party Clowns ...

Where were the Tea Party Clowns when President Bush was increasing the deficit? Oh, all of a sudden they don't like BIG government. Not a peep when Homeland Security was created.

They are a bunch of clowns. Those creepy kind that we all have nightmares about.

Hypocrites and clowns.

The Bush Presidents are known here in Oakland, California for increasing deficits.

Tax the Rich! That's American values ...

"Another means of silently lessening the inequality of property is to exempt all from taxation below a certain point, and to tax the higher portions of property in geometric progression as they rise”
-- Thomas Jefferson

It's not socialism ... it's plain old American values.

From a recent article about Glenn Beck in The New Yorker "Confounding Fathers: The Tea Party's Cold War roots" by Sean Wilentz:

Thomas Jefferson, for example, wrote approvingly in 1811 of having federal taxes (then limited to tariffs) fall solely on the wealthy, which meant that "The farmer will see his government supported, his children educated, and the face of his country made a paradise by the contributions of the rich alone, without his being called on to spend a cent from his earnings."
What's wrong with taxing the rich more? [No name calling. Just tell me in real terms -- what's wrong with it?]

French protests and U.S. Aid to Pakistan ...

(c) 2010 K. Smokey Cormier

Two things have merged in my mind today: the French protests + U.S. $$$ Aid $$$ to Pakistan.

I guess the Obama administration fears the Taliban extremists more than they fear all the folks here in the U.S. who are losing their jobs and homes. Guess they bet on the right pony.

Folks, the U.S. (meaning us) are giving Pakistan $2 Billion dollars a year to fight extremists. I know that you know how hard it is to earn cash these days. So there goes our hard-earned cash ... to Pakistan. Where will it really end up?

And good people here are still losing jobs ... still losing their homes. Two billion dollars. Per year -- you caught that part, didn't you, bunkie?

What does it take to get folks here in the U.S. of Amnesia to get out there in the streets and EXPRESS THEMSELVES??!!!!

Enthusiastically gonna vote Democratic ...

My previous post might have led some of you to doubt if I were gonna vote in mid-term elections. OH YEAH! And ... I WILL VOTE ENTHUSIASTICALLY IN FAVOR OF DEMOCRATS. No enthusiasm gap here. Know why? BECAUSE I HATE REPUBLICANS AND WHAT THEY STAND FOR.

I will never let the Republicans win when I can vote against them.

We cannot let the Republicans win!!! It's as simple as that. I don't think they're gonna win. Because you gotta remember -- THEY'RE A BUNCH OF WINDBAGS. They always brag about how they're gonna win.

We must let President Obama and his administration finish their work -- isn't that why we elected him in 2008? (I'm just not gonna donate money, that's all.)

VOTE EARLY AND VOTE OFTEN!

President Obama: Jobs and Foreclosures!

Someone from the Democratic Party just called my home and asked for money. I said: when you create more jobs and stop foreclosures, then I'll donate money.
